begin again

it is now twenty five days into the new year.
i started writing this post on day six of the new year.

after nineteen days i am still on the same page with how i am feeling about this new year.
for two thousand eleven
mr. boon and i had some resolutions.
we did a pretty good job. the ones that we didn't ace... we are on the right track to!

i spotted an idea from elise, who i think spotted it from ali.
it was to choose a word to keep coming back to during the year and how you go about your daily life. a little word to remind and inspire.

so before we went out on the town on the thirty first of december we had a little ceremony
(i may have forced this upon the holmstrom kids) to celebrate two thousand and eleven enlighten one another with our chosen word for two thousand and twelve.

boon's word = moderation
lindsay's word=being
miss jen's word= intention

so far...so good.

i know some folks don't really care much for resolutions. that is okay. but i also think that is okay to continue to strive and have hope for finding your flow and what makes you feel alive.
so here are some little pieces from around the web that are helping
me to get up every day and live it, intentionally.

A wonderful article from my favorite self- improvement blog, Live Bold & Bloom...

create a vision board like Kaileen Elise

my computer is full of bookmarks, google reader starred items, hearted tumblr ideas, and pins on how i want to live out each day.
cheers to making baby steps and getting closer
and closer to being in alignment.

Wishing you success in finding where you need to be.
Happy year from me (and boon) to you.

what should your word be? do tell!

  1. I love the idea of choosing one word to keep coming back to, to live by, to strive for. It really simplifies resolutions and goals and that one word can make us change in great ways. I'm off to do some housework and give great thought to the word that I want to achieve this year. Thanks for the inspiration and your lovely blog. :)

    1. I really enjoy it too. I easily get caught up in the moment and let frustration take free reign. Then I jump to my word and I can be taken out of my funk and be on the right path again. I am excited to hear what your word is! I am excited to follow your lovely blog!

  2. I almost copied your word and I probably will next year because I think it's nearly the perfect word to strive for if there is such thing. But after much thinking I've decided for this year to pick Prayer.

I really need to brush off the dust that has accumulated on my blog and start posting again. I've really taken a lot of time off in this season of life and I was thinking that since my youngest has recently turned one that I might have a little more time but she seems to be quite the monkey baby that really keeps me busy all the time! One of these months I'll get back into it but for now please don't expect much!

  3. I kind of felt like I was cheating by using intention...just because we should be intentional in everything we do. I have been coming back to it a lot and it has made a very positive difference so far.

I think prayer is just a good word...and maybe it can inspire you be more creative with praying...like making a grateful journal, praying in different places or ways.

I think blogging is great if it fits into life...it hasn't been fitting into mine recently and I think that is okay. Spending time with your little ones is way more important than blogging! Enjoy all the sweet moments of your little ones and when there is a post...I will delight in it!
